[regtool] Extension for parsing alias registers This adds a regtool option for parsing in alias register definitions - a regtool enhancement that makes it possible to define generic register descriptions on the opensource side and override these descriptions with non-public information on the closed source side. Alias registers are defined similarly to regular registers, but specify additional keys to establish a correspondence between generic and alias register definitions. Only a subset of register attributes such as the name, description and reset values can be overridden. The validation step ensures that all other non-aliasable attributes and the overall register structure remains identical. Once validated, the alias register definitions replace the generic definitions, and the RTL, DV and SW backends may then use the augmented register block objects to produce additional types, classes and RTL modules to support alias definitions in closed source environments. OpenTitan is an open source silicon Root of Trust (RoT) project. OpenTitan will make the silicon RoT design and implementation more transparent, trustworthy, and secure for enterprises, platform providers, and chip manufacturers. OpenTitan is administered by lowRISC CIC as a collaborative project to produce high quality, open IP for instantiation as a full-featured product. See the OpenTitan site and OpenTitan docs for more information about the project.
This repository contains hardware, software and utilities written as part of the OpenTitan project. It is structured as monolithic repository, or “monorepo”, where all components live in one repository. It exists to enable collaboration across partners participating in the OpenTitan project.
The project contains comprehensive documentation of all IPs and tools. You can access it online at docs.opentitan.org.
