[sw] Cleanup Device Image Linker Scripts This change is intended to cleanup how we use our linker scripts and our linker flags so that we end up with a more controlled set of device ELF files. The main way this is done is by extracting out all the informational sections into a separate linker script fragment, that the other scripts include. This change also: - Disables emitting unwind information. - Adds some linker arguments to emit warnings if problematic sections are emitted (COMMON, and orphan sections). - Defines entry points for all linker scripts (not that we ever use this information, but the ELF format requires it). - Extracts some common device link arguments that are duplicated in the device tree. - Lays some groundwork for investigating how we can use LLD for OpenTitan Device Builds. OpenTitan is an open source silicon Root of Trust (RoT) project. OpenTitan will make the silicon RoT design and implementation more transparent, trustworthy, and secure for enterprises, platform providers, and chip manufacturers. OpenTitan is administered by lowRISC CIC as a collaborative project to produce high quality, open IP for instantiation as a full-featured product. See the OpenTitan site and OpenTitan docs for more information about the project.
This repository contains hardware, software and utilities written as part of the OpenTitan project. It is structured as monolithic repository, or “monorepo”, where all components live in one repository. It exists to enable collaboration across partners participating in the OpenTitan project.
The project contains comprehensive documentation of all IPs and tools. You can access it online at docs.opentitan.org.
